This is the only `Whisper(')s` restaurant in Aurora. There is no `Whispers` where you get American food, primarily steaks, and there is no restaurant at 11253 E. Colorado Dr. That is a house in a residential area. Having decided against going to a bar (other sites describe Whisper's as such), I thought the difference in description was striking, so we tried to go to the non-existent Whispers. After that dissappointment, we did check out Whisper's but the atmosphere was poor. The bar occupies half the space, is the first thing you see, the lighting is poor (unless they open the blinds which the patrons don't wish to have done, basically) and cigarette smoke permeates the air. We didn't give them a chance to serve us so I can't judge them on that. Their food may be good. I don't think it was as expensive as $20. Their specialty of the day was just $8.95. But the waitress or matron of the restaurant was very nice and understanding and did not hold us to or begrudge us the reservation I had made. Instead, she recommended restaurant across the street which turned out to be very nice. It wasn't a steakhouse that I had been looking for (a moderately-priced steakhouse that took reservations is what I was looking for) but they did serve a wide assortment of entrees, primarily Greek. It wasn't bad, not what we were looking for but since we were in the vicinity and didn't want to travel far to some other place, we did eat there and we were served well and generally enjoyed the meals we got. So the personnel at Whisper's were very nice but they were puzzled, as we found out, why I would reserve a table for 10 on Mother's Day. It is not a place for Mother's Day, not a place for most church-going people, especially on Mother's Day. My wife and I may go back to Whisper's someday to find out how their food is but we will not take a large group of people there.
